A Pan-Africanist, driven by a belief that strong financial institutions can empower people, businesses, and communities to transform Africa. His passion lies in advancing climate resilience, empowering Africa’s youth, and nurturing leadership that drives inclusive and sustainable growth. These convictions shape the way he leads, ensuring that businesses, sectors, and communities thrive through innovative financial solutions.
Service has always been central to his career. He has chaired the Kenya Bankers Association Governing Council for two terms and continues to sit on the Council, championing stability, accessibility, inclusivity, and efficiency in the banking sector.
Beyond banking, he has contributed to regional policy and development, including a role as a Director of the Vision 2030 Delivery Board, where he helped steer Kenya’s long-term transformation agenda across its economic, social, and political pillars.
His contributions have been recognised globally: he was named by the Financial Times as one of Africa’s Top 25 leaders, and he has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate of HumaneLetters (Honoris Causa). He was also conferred the Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (CBS) by President Uhuru Kenyatta for exemplary service to Kenya.
